    Chad Franks General Counsel Award

    Devotion / Discretion / Professionalism

Mr. Franks is a seasoned general counsel, litigation and trial attorney, and consultant in Southern California. He is licensed as an attorney in five states.

From March 2008 through December 2017, Mr. Franks served as VP, General Counsel, and Board Secretary to a large staffing company in Southern California. At one point, the business boasted 16,000 employees. Mr. Franks oversaw all complex litigation (namely trade secret and alleged wrongful termination), M&A, regulatory, human resources, risk management, and safety matters in and throughout the six states where the company operated. This also included close work with the CFO, P & L management, and sales and business development. The company grew from $13M to approximately $100M. The Orange County Business Journal awarded Mr. Franks its coveted General Counsel award in November 2015 due to his outstanding general counsel work.

From 2001 through 2008, Mr. Franks was a partner at Campbell & Franks, which represented nearly 200 victims of child sexual abuse against the employer of the perpetrator of the abuse (churches, school, youth organizations). In late 2007, those cases resolved through trial preparation -- and ultimately complex mediation -- with an average resolution value of $1.1M/case, garnering victims over $200M in compensation! That heart-felt work cemented the foundation for what Chad has applied to day-to-day practice since 2002: "devotion, discretion, and professionalism."
